This program is designed to equip daycare teachers and staff with the knowledge and skills to provide healthy meals and promote healthy eating habits for children ages infant to 5 years old. It will focus on balanced nutrition, portion control, meal planning, and effective strategies for fostering positive attitudes toward food in young children. The program will combine education, hands-on activities, and real-life examples to ensure the staff can implement the information confidently and effectively. Program Structure: Module 1: Introduction to Nutrition for Young Children Duration: 1.5 -2 Hours Objective: Understand the nutritional needs of children from infancy to 5 years old. Key Topics: Importance of early nutrition for growth, development, and cognitive function. Nutrient requirements for children in different age groups (infants, toddlers, preschoolers). Building a balanced diet: macronutrients (proteins, fats, carbs) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). Age-appropriate portion sizes and frequency of meals. The role of water and hydration in children’s health.
